CANADIAN
ROCKIES AND
GLACIER NATIONAL PARK ADVENTURE
|
|
Day
One:
|
Our
journey begins in Kalispell, Montana, at 11:00 am. We enter Glacier National Park
(a half-hour away) and have a picnic lunch in a
beautiful setting at Lake McDonald. We then drive
past Lake McDonald and soon find ourselves on the
Going-to-the-Sun-road headed towards a high mountain
summit, clearly one of the most beautiful drives
in America.
We
tour the park for the remainder of the afternoon
and then depart for nearby Whitefish, Montana,
for the evening. There will be hosted dinner for
all to attend.
|
Day
Two:
|
We
depart for Banff, Canada, crossing the border
near Eureka, Montana. Our route is over a somewhat
rural part of the British Columbia province and
takes us parallel with the beautiful Canadian
Rockies. Lunch is on the way. We arrive in Banff
in the afternoon and will take a brief driving
tour of town and then check into our hotel. Dinner
and the evening are on your own.

Day
Three:
|
After
breakfast, we depart Banff and take the Trans-Canada
Highway towards world-renown Lake Louise region.
Our first stop will be at Moraine Lake.
This
particular lake is surrounded by high mountain
ridges, is crystal clear and is in a very peaceful
and tranquil sitting. The lake has been featured
on the Canadian $20 bill and is truly a wonderful
way to start our day.
Later
we go to beautiful Lake Louise. This unusually
blue, Glacier-fed lake is everyone's favorite.
We will spend the remainder of the morning here
at the lake and have lunch in the spectacular
Chateau located nearby. In the afternoon we will
visit Emerald Lake, another one of Canada's most
beautiful lakes and then go to the Continental
Divide.
We
will return to Banff in late afternoon for individual
shopping and sight seeing. Dinner is on your own

Day
Four:
|
We
leave Banff and follow the Bow River northward
towards the Brewster Ice Fields. Our first stop
is at pristine Bow Lake, made famous by the movie
stars who came here for rest and relaxation in
years past. It still remains a beautiful and tranquil
place to visit.
After
our stop, we proceed to the Brewster Ice fields.
A unique opportunity to journey onto an active
glacier in some really different vehicles made
especially for travel on and off the glacier.
Lunch will be at the nearby Visitor's Center.
In
the afternoon, we depart for the community of
Golden, British Columbia. One the way, we get
to enjoy the rivers and forests of British Columbia.
Once we have checked into our motel, we will
take a gondola to the top of Kicking Horse Mountain
for dinner in the ski resort's best restaurant.
A spectacular Canadian Rockies vista awaits
us as one can see "forever" from this
perspective. After dinner, we spend the evening
in the ski resort.

Day
Five:
|
After
breakfast, we depart for the beautiful city
of Vancouver. We should arrive by early evening.
Our hotel is located downtown in the middle
of the shopping district and surrounded by all
kinds of restaurants. Dinner is on your own.

|
We
will take the group on a two- hour tour of downtown
Vancouver as well as nearby Stanley Park. The
day is open to all for what ever.
We will meet in early afternoon and take the one-hour
ferry ride to Victoria. For many, this ferry ride
is one of the tour highlights as the passage is
beautiful.
We will take a brief tour of downtown Victoria
and then the afternoon is yours to explore the
cities' many quaint shops and restaurants. Dinner
is on your own. We spend the evening in downtown
Victoria.

| Day
Seven:
|
We
visit the world famous Bouchard Gardens
in the morning. One of our favorite places
to go
as the flowers and surroundings are stunningly
beautiful.
After
lunch, we will take a bus tour of the
many scenic vistas around Victoria and
the afternoon is yours to continue to
explore this wonderful city.
We will spend a second night in Victoria.
